Our History
The Farm Ocean City has a story behind it like no other. What started as an idea, blossomed into a new way to experience Ocean City, Maryland.
Formerly owned by one of Ocean City’s most prominent mayors, Harry Kelley, the property served a multitude of purposes. Nestled along the Herring Creek, this expansive 100-acre estate unveiled a wealth of diverse wildlife and natural beauty.
After being established in 2022, construction began on the farmhouse and event center using trees from the property. Fritz and his team built a modern farmhouse out of southern yellow pine trees to make this vision come to life. Utilizing the Japanese method of “Shou sugi ban” tourching lumber to promote a long-standing, and stable barn, it was completed in 2024 and is finally ready and open to help guests create memories that last a lifetime.
About the Founder: Meet Fritz
With a rich background in design and build, Fritz was inspired by barn styles from the Midwest to build a modern farmhouse and event center that would allow people to relax, and feel at home while celebrating special occasions with their families and friends.
Establishing The Farm in 2022, Fritz has made it his goal to help guests experience the Eastern Shore in a new way. Located on the headwaters of Herring Creek, The Farm allows guests to be connected to the sea by the land.
When he’s not on The Farm, you can find him fishing, hunting, surfing, and spending time with his family and friends.
